It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Alice Marie Jassman (76), of Fort Macleod, AB, on May 7, 2019. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Judy, Kathy and Lori, her grandchildren, Melissa, Chalsey, Dakota and Megan, and her great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Kenley and Jaydee. She is also survived by her sisters, Agnes, Edna Mae, Pat and Linda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by her parents, Elsworth (‘Cap’) and Ida Russell, and her brother Allan Russell
In her younger years, our Mother loved to get all ‘dolled up’ and go dancing - she’d never pass up an opportunity to kick up her heels on the dance floor. She also loved to go camping, especially if it was a family camp-out, and was an avid Rodeo fan, taking in as many local Rodeos as she could. She also took great pride in her yard and flower beds, which she toiled endlessly in from spring to fall. Her favorite thing, however, was sitting down for a ‘mean’ game of Canasta, a card game that all members of our family were required to learn and play, and “Yes, Mom, you play like a wiener, and you are so a ‘Pile Hog’ “!
We wish to thank Dr. Beekman, the Fort Macleod Home Care Nurses, and all of the staff at the Community Support Beds (Fort Macleod) for the exemplary care given to our Mother during her last days, as well as their compassion and support to her family during this difficult time.
