Amanda Davis Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Amanda Jade Davis, on Thursday, January 16, 2020.

Left to mourn Amanda are her parents:  Patrick and Nadine Yellow Wings; her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick (PJ) and Quincy; nieces:  Dakota Phoenix Jade and Carling Saharrah Chancii Joy; nephew:  Lukan James Kash.  Grandparents:  Isaac Sr. (deceased) and Rosabel; Gordon (deceased) and Annie Davis. Her aunts and uncles:  Doreen, Elaine, Isaac Jr. (deceased) Virginia, Danny (Georgette), Brenda (deceased), Lucy (Randy); Shelley (Raynard), Rex (Molly), Jeff (Yolanda), Annette (Franklyn), Joe (Joni), Slim. Amanda is predeceased by her grandfathers:  Isaac Yellow Wings, Sr and Gordon Davis, brother Kevin Pat and her cat Cleo.

Amanda was born and raised on the Blood Reserve in Saikois (Center Lease Road) and Farm Four Area.  Being the eldest Grandchild, Amanda was considered the “Cool Aunt/Cousin/Friend”; her family/friends will attest to that.  Many stories were told by friends and family on their many escapades.

Amanda graduated from the Cardston High School in 1998; from there she continued her education at the Medicine Hat College in 2002 with 2 diplomas: Business Administration/Marketing; in 2007 Amanda furthered her education and obtained her Bachelor of Management Degree at the University of Lethbridge.  She was very proud of her diplomas/degree.

During her adult life, she was employed in various departments on and off the reserve:  Taco Time & Fas Gas (Medicine Hat); Blood Tribe Economic Development, Blood Tribe Lands Department, Kainai Government Agreement, BTAP, Varsteel, Alberta Health Services, and Annie Davis Catering.

Amanda enjoyed attending all the Indian Days (Browning, Kainai, and Tsuu T’ina).  She enjoyed shopping in Cutbank at JCPenny/Normans.  During the Browning Indian Days she always camped in Carolyn Zuback’s backyard in Browning. She always enjoyed a good BBQ and bonfire and travelling.

Amanda’s ambition for life was felt by all who met her.  She was outgoing, friendly, kind to all whom she met, always enjoyed a good laugh, her laughter was infectious.  She met lots of people in her lifetime. She will be missed by all her family and friends:  young and old.  When you met Amanda you were sure to be touched by her loving kindness.  She was a big sister to all and will not be forgotten.
