Grey Cressman, beloved husband of Carole, loving father of Kathy, David, Scott and Rob, died peacefully Saturday, May 5th at Fort Macleod.
We’ve had a grand adventure (his word). Grey was born 23rd December, 1930 to Eliud and Mary Cressman, at Hillcrest in the Crowsnest Pass, where his Dad was a butcher. In 1942 Grey and his Mom moved to Calgary, and those were the years of sharing with the McIntyre side of the family, and with good friends
In 1951 he joined the staff of the Court House in Calgary, married Carole Marilyn Mabel Dunn in 1955. Thus began an exciting new life journey when he was transferred to Lethbridge in January of 1956 as Assistant Sheriff at the Court House there, and then in November of 1963 the family’s move to Fort Macleod where he had been appointed Sheriff and Clerk of the Court
Fort Macleod very quickly became the home of our hearts. The people of Christ Church Anglican, of the Rotary Club, the golf and curling clubs, good neighbours both at the house, later the happy time living at The Carriage House, and of course the chums at Coffee Row were all important in his life.
Kathy (Don), David, Scott (Sue) and Rob (Cara) arrived and the family was then, and remained throughout his life, his special joy. He loved watching the children grow, sharing their lives, and then that precious time as Grandad to Jeremy (Lauren) and Brianna (Adrian aka ”Age”). There are cousins, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Gail Dunn, and their children’s families.
