Laura May Afdahl

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Laura May Afdahl, 83, announce her passing on November 23, 2017.

Born May 30, 1934 in the Pincher Creek hospital, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Wright; and predeceased by her brother Lloyd Wright, and her son Brent Afdahl.

She grew up on a farm north of Cowley and loved the farm life, especially the animals. After meeting her husband Jack, they moved to a farm east of Pincher Creek where they raised their family, and where they’ve spent the last 62 years.

Laura was an active member in many clubs. In the early days it was the Brocket Ladies Club, the Hillsview Ladies Club, Rebecca’s, and most recently, a proud member of the Red Hats of Pincher Creek (Pincher Creek Wind Bags).

She is survived by her husband Jack Afdahl; her daughter Laura Lee, and son Jan (Karen); grandchildren Lisa (Craig), Brent (Misty), Britni (Sam), Madisson (Forrest); great-grandchildren Tatum, Kaelynn, Thomas, Wyatt, Sloan, Alexis, Reed, Charlotte, and Aubrey.

A graveside service will be held at the Fairview cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017.  Following the service a tea will be held at the Summerview Hall at Heritage Acres.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Windy Slopes Health Foundation.
