Lloyd Lang Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lloyd G. Lang at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 as a result of a tragic accident he was involved in on August 27th, 2019. Lloyd was in his 86th year.

This loving, caring and wonderful man, a beloved husband and Father, has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be supremely missed by his wife and best friend of 61 years, Beverley Ann Lang, and his children Myles (Amber) Lang and Sheryl (Gord) Welton (nee Lang).

He was the proud grandfather to Derek Brown, Danyelle Brown and Tayler Brown.

He was the son of the late Gustave Lang & Lydia Lang (Nee Zimmerman) of Olds Alberta, as he was the last of his brood he was predeceased by his brothers, John, Marvin and Larry Lang and only sister, Darlene Vonn.

As he was born to a farming family, his early years were spent on the family farm, tending to school and chores alongside his parents, brothers and sister, due to an accident early in his life, at a point he left the farm in pursuit of an alternate career, aside from some early diversions in the working world he eventually settled on a career in banking wherein he spent 35 years with the Alberta Treasury Branches until his retirement in 1988. He and Beverley then relocated to Pincher Creek. As he had always loved living on the family farm in his youth, it never really left him so that was one of his first pursuits in retirement was to start hobby farming/ranching which he continued to do for many years, in addition to dabbling in his other interests and hobbies, to name only a few, fishing, landscaping, gardening and tending to the yard and house which he ensured was ever expanding in its scope and level of attention required to maintain.

He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends.

Family was the pivotal essence of Lloyd’s life. He was proud and honored to be the patriarch, father, grandfather to our family. He has been a major presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

He had a long-standing relationship with God and was very blessed with his faith to his dying breath.

The family would like to thank all the health care professionals from the Pincher Creek Emergency Services, the Pincher Creek Hospital, Associated Medical Clinic, Stars Air Ambulance and Foothills Hospital Intensive Care Unit Pods “C” & “B” for the exemplary care they have all provided in the last days of his life.

Lloyd will be forever remembered for his tenacious love of life, his caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love.  Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on October 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church (637 Charlotte St, Pincher Creek, AB)
