Lyal Raymond Whiteoak of Fort Macleod, Alberta, beloved husband of Patricia Ann Whiteoak, went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness at the age of 78 years.
Besides his loving wife Patricia Ann Whiteoak, Lyal Raymond Whiteoak is survived by his daughter Sherry Foreshew (nee) Whiteoak, son Lyal William Whiteoak (Cherie Bernard), step-daughter Donna (Larry) Fesyk, step-son Dave MacIntyre, grandchildren Jazmin (Sean), Nolan, Brooklyn, Ryan, Jackson, Kayla, Aleah, Isabella, and Jake, great-grandchildren Elayna, Olin, Byrnlie, Kade, Benson, Maison, and Harper, sisters Vivian Moldovan and Janice Whiteoak, and brother Donald Whiteoak (Rose), as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
Lyal was predeceased by his parents William and Alma Whiteoak, as well as his brothers Larry Whiteoak and Gary Whiteoak.
Born Kipling Saskatchewan, Lyal grew up on the farm, married, had a family and continued with his farming career. He later moved to Fort Saskatchewan settling there to pursue broader interests in the farming and the grain industries. Lyal later migrated to managing Caraway Duty Free, and meeting people. In retirement he moved to the Fort McLeod area, following his passion of driving for the local General Motors dealership.
Lyal loved nature, camping, and adventure and so he took every opportunity to travel to the mountains, as well as various places in Montana, Arizona and eastern and western Canada. Doing this with his wife, family, and friends was one of his greatest joys. As Jazmin would say, “Let’s hit the road Poppa.” Lyal enjoyed playing crib and card games with his many friends, loved music, and dancing. Lyal treasured the time he spent with his church family.
Lyal will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
