Marion Maclean, beloved wife of the late Dr. Alastair Mclean, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14th. She was born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, and resided in Winnipeg for her school years where she met her husband. They moved to Elkhorn, Manitoba with their young family where Alastair began his first medical practice. The family then moved to England where Alastair furthered his medical studies. Marion felt this was one of her happiest times. Leaving England in 1950, they moved to Fort Macleod where Marion resided for the rest of her life. A happy, outgoing person she was involved in the life of the town. She joined service clubs, bridge clubs and played the organ for her church.
Marion was a devoted wife, loving mother and a kind and fun-loving grandmother. She loved people and was a good friend to many. She is survived by her six children: Cathie, Neil, Cam ( Angie) Alison( Tom ) Don ( Linda) and Scot, and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Alastair Maclean, in 1970.
The family would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff at Extendicare who supported Marion on her journey.
A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at the Trinity United Church. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity that has meaning to them.
