Abram “Abe” Janzen was born on October 26, 1942, in Coaldale, Alberta, and passed away peacefully at the Pincher Creek Hospital on April 14, 2026, at the age of 83 years.
Abe was predeceased by his parents, Aron and Anna Janzen, as well as seven of his siblings.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Elaine, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his four children: Darryl Janzen, Gloria Janzen (Karl), Steven Janzen (Dee), and Carol Giesbrecht (Wade). Abe’s legacy continues through his 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in his life.
The most important things to Abe were his faith, his family, farming, and gardening. He spent 23 years farming in the Glenwood area on his parents’ homestead, a life that reflected his deep work ethic, love of the land, and commitment to providing for his family. In 1995, Abe and Elaine moved to Pincher Creek, where he lived the remainder of his life.
Abe will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong values, and the love he had for those closest to him. His life was rooted in faith, shaped by hard work, and blessed with a large and loving family.
