The family of Bobby Hector Good Rider are deeply saddened to announce his passing on June 3, 2023, in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 43 years. Bobby was born to Chris Good Rider and Judy Wings-Crop Eared Wolf. Bobby comes from the Fish Eater Clan in Kainai and the Lonefighter Clan in Piikani.
Bobby’s early schooling took place in Pincher Creek, and he later attended School in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan during his high school years. Bobby grew up in Piikani, in his early years he developed a deep interest in agriculture and livestock as he witnessed his dad farm for many years in Southern Alberta.
Bobby had a lot of interests, and he took many opportunities to experience what he enjoyed. Bobby took a liking to horses early in his life which was partly due to his paternal side of the family as the Good Rider’s were known for their involvement with horses. His favorite pastime was breaking horses and he prided himself with this ability. In high school Bobby competed in bull riding with the Alberta High School Rodeo and the Chinook Rodeo Association.
Bobby was predeceased by his grandparents Ruth Wings, Pat Crop Eared Wolf, Hector & Madeliene Good Rider. Cousins Shayla Wings, Leeboy Wings, Robert Macleod, Julie Macleod. Uncles Aloysius Wings, Stanley Good Rider, Gary Good Rider.
Bobby’s other interest was skiing along with his family. He and sister Crystal were part of the Nancy Green Ski team at Castle Mountain Ski Resort in the late 80s and early 90s. He competed in the giant slalom category, along with his sister, Crystal. The family were avid skiers and they competed in the Treaty 7 Winter Games in which the family came out first in all events. During the summer months, Bobby would help with the family store “Three Eagles” named after his great grandfather.
Bobby was an affectionate person and although he didn’t have children of his own, he developed a close relationship with his family, he often took care of his two younger sisters, Cassie and Tris. He was a proud uncle to his nephews Dasan and Adrian, and his nieces Danisha, Emma, and Jewels.
Bobby was a proud person, and he was always dressed neat in appearance in his best western attire with his black Stetson hat. He was a friendly and outgoing person and always made sure he took time to visit with family. Family meant everything to Bobby, he had a special relationship with his cousin the late Aaron Good Rider, his wife Florence, their children; Nidel, MJ (Colden), Blaine and their grandchildren AJ, Myles, Gracie, Claire, Ava, Aaralyn, Uriah, Tavaris.
Bobby is survived by his parents, his dad Chris Good Rider, his mother Judy (Bill) Wings-Crop Eared Wolf. His sisters Crystal, Cassie (Lance), and Tris Good Rider. His nephews Dasan (Marquee) Crowshoe, Adrian Good Rider, nieces, Danisha, Emma, and Jewels Good Rider-Water Chief. His aunts and uncles Jackie (Mike) Bromley, Patsy (Roy) Weasel Fat, Patrick, Derrick (Faye), Belva, Cammie (Joe) Galdamez, Carol, and Melody (Derrick) on his mother’s side; and on his father’s side, Mavis Kearney, Valerie (Gordon) McFarlane, Clarice (Woody) Beebe, Celeste, Morris, and Liz. His great aunt Rosemary Tail Feathers.

A Wake Service was held at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 – 5 Avenue, Fort Macleod, Alberta, on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
An All-Night Wake followed at Cassie’s Family Residence.
A Funeral Service was held at the Piikani Community Hall, Brocket, Alberta on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Following the Funeral Service, Bobby was laid to rest at the Piikani Nation Cemetery.
