Brent Burr Obituary

Brent Douglas Burr, beloved husband of Beverly Burr, passed away suddenly from a heart attack in the morning of July 30, 2021 at the age of 64. Brent was born the second child to Clair and Doreen Burr in Lethbridge, Alberta. He spent the first years of his life on the family farm outside of Raymond, and treasured his memories of playing outside with his older brother Rod, and his cousins. Their family eventually moved into Lethbridge where lifelong friends were made and Brent’s love for sports began. In Junior High, Brent’s dad accepted a position in Edmonton and the family relocated. Once again, Brent quickly found friends who he kept in touch with throughout the rest of his life and he spent most of his time in the gymnasium. After graduating from high school, Brent served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Oakland, California. Following his mission, he returned home to Edmonton, fell in love with Beverly June Prince, and they got married in 1982. Together they worked to raise a family through faith and love. Brent’s love for sports continued on in his adult years and he shared that love with his four children. He was a perennial coach in little league and for community/ school basketball teams for over 25 years. A firm belief Brent had was that every kid deserves an opportunity to participate in sports. Much of Brent’s time was spent serving within his faith; he found the most joy working with the youth and young adults. Brent was an entrepreneur that loved to think outside the box and was always ready to try something new. Eventually, he found his way into real estate and spent most of his career as a Realtor and in real estate services. Brent had a love for life that was contagious to everyone around, he always made sure to take the scenic road, and rooted for the little guy. Recently, he and his wife, Bev, made the move back down to Southern Alberta, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

Brent will be missed by those that love him, and those whose lives he had touched.

Besides his loving wife Beverly, Brent is survived by his four children, Claire (Tom) Viinikka (Ellie, Oliver, Avery, Owen, Easton, Archie), Cameron (Andraya) Burr (Everly, Jovie, Briggs, Wells), Bryan (Tess) Burr (Emilie, Benjamin, Lucy, Maggie), and Carley (Judd) Payne (Rosie, Ross, Roger, Redd, Ruth), his sisters Donna (Jim) Wood, Georgeanne (Brian) Fairbanks, his sister in-law Dena Burr, his brother Darren Burr, and his mother Doreen Burr, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Brent was predeceased by his father Clair Burr, and his brother Rodney Burr.
