Brian "Barney" Vik

Brian (Barney) Vik passed away peacefully at Linden View in Taber, Alberta, on December 3, 2023, at the age of 91 years.

Barney is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Florence “Tootsie” Vik, his daughters Carrie (Tim) Valer and Wendy Wood, his son Craig (Laurie) Vik, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as his brother George. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Teresa Vik, his brothers Joe, Bill, and Burt, and his son-in-law Doug Wood.

Barney grew up in Barnwell where he took over the family farm. Barney & Toots got married in 1954, where they raised 3 children and later sold the farm and moved to Taber where they lived for 50 years. He was a loving husband & father.

A Celebration of Barney’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barney’s name can be made to the Taber Royal Canadian Legion.
