It is with great sadness we announce David Ernest Magnus, age 66, of Pincher Creek, Alberta, passed away November 7, 2020 in Calgary after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 22, 1954 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to Ernest and Lois Magnus. He attended school in Tisdale while working on the family farm. Then went on to work for the department of Highways in Saskatchewan.
Dave married Mona Renaud from Tisdale in November 1984. They moved to Pincher Creek, Alberta in 1988 with their children, Daniel and Whitney. Dave went to work on the Bridge Crew for Alta Highways. His employment was transferred to Volker Stevin where he remained employed for 25 years.
In 2002 Dave met the love of his life Suzanne Pettersen. They married July 24, 2010.
Dave had a zest for life. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved playing hockey, golfing and going camping. Especially camping down in Montana.
Dave was always proud of his Garden and loved to barbecue. Dave was compassionate and caring, always willing to help out whenever possible.
He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; his mother Lois Magnus; his children: Whitney (Jay) Magnus, Nathan Pettersen, Hayley Pettersen, Daniel Magnus and Lori Thurlow; his grandchildren: Bria, Brooklyn, Dreyson and Devlin; his siblings: Marg (Lawrence) Lauinger, Marlene McKnight, Karen (John) Seniuk, Shirley Anderson (Brian Pohorelic), Danny (Alana) Magnus and Patty Bousquet; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Because of the present circumstances there will be no funeral service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Everyone who remembers Dave is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite drink would be quite appropriate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (1331 29 Street NW Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2) in memory of Dave.
