Eleanor Davis of Pincher Creek, beloved wife of the late Bill Davis, passed away surrounded by her loving family after a short illness on July 15, 2025, at the age of 82 years.
Elly is survived by her daughter, Deanna (David) Kroeker and their children Ethan and Justin; son, Brian (Dawn) Davis and their child Lindsey (Scott) Knight, Blaine (Alyssa) Burgoine and their children Paige and Slade, (Billy Joe (Carolyn) Davis, both deceased), their children Lance (Stacie) Davis, Krystal (Chad) Brent and Nicole Davis. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Cole Davis, Braylee and Maci Knight, Samuel, Oliver and Chloe Davis and Cash Brent, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides her loving husband, Bill, Elly was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Harvey Gilbert; son, Billy Joe; daughter-in-law, Carolyn; and sisters, Evelyn (Binkie), Loreen; brother, Ken; and brother in-law, Bill Gladstone.
Elly was born on February 11, 1943, in Outlook, Saskatchewan. She moved to Pincher Creek at age 18 where she met the love of her life, Bill Davis. They were married on April 27, 1963. They settled on the farm north of town in 1966 and raised 3 children.
Elly had varied interests which included gardening, camping, sewing and reading. She loved to help everybody, especially kids. She was a formidable advocate for those in need but her greatest passion was family.
She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion #43 Ladies Auxiliary for 45 years. She was also on the board for Group Youth for multiple years.
At age 45 Elly went to work as an Educational Assistant. She worked at a variety of schools in the region and finished her rewarding career at Lundbreck School.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM, on 23 July 2025 at Vertical Church Pincher Creek, 1200 Ken Thornton Blvd , with Dave Goff officiating. Inurnment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Reception will be held upstairs in the Legion.
