Ernest Swanson Obituary

Ernest Swanson was born in Smeaton, Saskatchewan on April 2, 1956 To Hilma and Arthur Swanson of

Snowden Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his two older brothers Lloyd and Clifford. He also had a few nieces and nephews along the way as well as many friends around Pincher Creek and Lethbridge area.

Ernest Swanson attended school in Snowden and Choiceland, Saskatchewan . As a kid attending school he always found time to help out on the family farm.

Ernie moved to Lethbridge, AB when he was 18 years old and obtained a job at Swift’s meat packing plant. He stayed with Swifts for Several years and then decided to take up his automotive mechanical trade. Ernest obtained three journeyman trades during his years. These trades were Automotive mechanic, Diesel mechanic and Motorbike mechanic. He was always good at mechanics and could figure an engine out just by listening to it.

He bought a Trike package in his earlier years and was able to put it together from scratch with very little assistance.

In 1989 he married Elaine Stadnik of Choiceland Sk. Ernest and Elaine moved to Pincher Creek, Alberta in the fall of 1986. They were a couple for 11 years and then decided it was time to move on.

Ernest met Barbara Adams from Pincher Creek in 2010. She was the love of his life when she suddenly passed away in July of 2015. They particularly enjoyed fishing together and would often come home with two or three nice Rainbow Trout to barbecue. Ernie also enjoyed barbecuing beef steak and could cook up a steak like a professional chef. His other hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson and Yamaha motorbike around the country. Ernie and his friends would go on many road trips together. Some of these road trips would take them to Sturgis and Laughlin in the USA. During his retirement years he would do some woodworking and small engine repairs such as working on his Motorbikes. He would also make plenty of time for his friends.

Ernie will be sadly missed by all of us.

THE Lord is my shepherdi;

I shall not want.

He maketh me t o lie down in green pastures;;

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me

in the paths o f righteousness

for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley

o f the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil:

For thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff

they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before m e

in the presence o f mine enemies:

Thou anointest my head with oil;

My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow m e

all the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

for ever.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.

Remember me when no more, day by day,
You tell me of our future that you planned;
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.

Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember; do not grieve;
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
