Evertje "Effie" Van Eck

Effie Van Eck (nee Vandenberg) passed away on September 19, 2018 in Fort Macleod.

 Effie was born on September 21, 1928 in the Netherlands and moved to Canada in June 1949.  On November 4, 1953 she married Gysbertus (Bert), and lived in Fort Macleod most of her life.  She is survived by her children Winnie, Berendina, John (Lori), Henry (Heather), Gilbert (Donna), Evelina (Scott), and Joyce (Garry), as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters Hennie, Teunie (Wim), Jans (John), and sister-in-law Gerrie.  She was predeceased by her husband Bert, sons-in-law Tony and Rudy, brother Drikus, and brother-in-law Evert.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pioneer Lodge and the Fort Macleod Health Centre for their outstanding care.

An opportunity to pay respects and visit with family will be held between 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Eden’s Funeral Home 2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod. A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 26 at 12 PM at Union Cemetery, Fort Macleod.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Bethel Free Reformed Church, 6 Eastman Rd, Monarch, AB. https://www.sermonaudio.com/bethelfrc A light lunch will be served following.
