It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad Rocky. Fredrick “Rocky” Arthur Blakeman, of Pincher Creek, Alberta, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Shirley Blakeman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
He leaves to mourn a huge family: his oldest daughter Delena (Jim) Johnston, his son John (Cathy) Blakeman, and his youngest daughter Jane (Mark) Wolkowski. He will also be dearly missed by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Rocky was a long-time resident of Pincher Creek. He worked at the Shell Waterton Gas Plant until he retired. He was passionate about all things Harley Davidson and rode his own into his nineties.
He enjoyed tending his award-winning yard, which included a whimsical hopscotch game on the sidewalk out front.
Most importantly Rocky leaves a legacy of love and positivity. We will smile and think fondly of his zest for life, his fantastic stories, and his classic mottos such as “never let the old man in“ and “gotta make a mile.”
As per Rocky’s wishes no services will be held. However, if friends so desire they can make a donation to a charity of their choice.
