Grace Elizabeth Kennedy

Grace Kennedy of Fort Macleod, passed away peacefully at Fort Macleod Extendicare on Sunday, June 19th, 2022. Grace was born on August 26, 1923, to Mary and Jim McNab, at home on the Doorkey Ranch, east of Fort Macleod.

After graduating from High School in Fort Macleod, she attended Lethbridge Business College. In 1946, Grace married Doug Snowdon. They resided in Fort Macleod where their two children, Marie and Jimmy were born. Following Doug's death in 1970, Grace later married John Kennedy of Fort Macleod.

Grace spent most of her long career as Secretary Treasurer of the Fort Macleod Municipal Hospital. Always actively involved in the community, Grace was a Lifetime member of the Branch 26 Royal Canadian Legion Womens' Auxilliary, the CWL, Life Line, Macleod Quilters and many other charities and civic groups.

Grace will be remembered for her lively, vivacious nature and quick wit, but most of all for her kind-hearted generosity and tireless commitment to family and community. She created many beautiful quilts and loved to golf and travel.

Grace was predeceased by her first husband, Doug and her second husband, John, her daughter, Marie, and her grandson, Dougie Snowdon. Grace was also predeceasing her parents, Mary and Jim McNab; her brother, Bob and his wife Wanda; her sisters and brothers-in-law; Marjorie and Roy MacLennan, Josie and Vern Burrows, Betty and Gordon Gregory, Pat and Don Sterling, Wayne Anderson; and step-son, Gordon Kennedy.

She is survived by her son, Jim Snowdon and his wife Dianna; grandchildren, Tammy (Ric Hawes) and Lisa Schweigert; great-grandchildren, Logan, Griffin, Matthew, Tyler, Mason, and Samantha. And Grace's only great-great-grandson, Lexon. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Ruby (Eric) Thomsen, Jean Anderson, and Bonnie (Jim) Murphy, and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
