Henry “Hank” Planger of Pincher Creek beloved husband of the late Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Planger, passed away peacefully on March 13,2022 at the age of 103 years.
Hank is survived by his 3 daughters: Suzanne (Vernon) Lynes, Esther (Larry) Koop, Judy (Jim) Tillack, daughter-in-law- Joyce Planger, 2 sons: Lyle Planger, Jerry Planger (Deceased), 9 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Hank was predeceased by his parents Norbert & Cordula Planger, infant baby daughter Ileane, Son: Jerry, Brother: Louis Planger, and Sister: Irene (Planger) Bonertz.
He was Proud member of the First Special Service Force (The Devil’s Brigade), an original member of the elite American + Canadian Commando Unit During WWII. A Lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Pincher Creek), and an avid hunter & fisherman. Hank loved all of his grandchildren and enjoyed being with all family & friends.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 958 Christie Ave, Pincher Creek, with Reverend Myles Gaffney Officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to a Veterans Charity of your choice.
