It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Henry “Pete” Ernest Rickard announce his sudden passing on October 24, 2024, at the age of 86.
Pete was born to Philip and Gertrude Mae Rickard, on February 28, 1938, in England. The family settled in Pincher Creek in the late 40s, where Pete has lived for most of his life. He has been an active member of the community, volunteering with Pincher Creek Anglican Church and the Kite Festival at Windy Point. His hobbies and interests helped define who he was, enjoying time with his family and friends, bowling, travelling, and playing crib.
Pete will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Joan, his daughters Laura (Bryan) McElroy, Andrea Connor, Michelle Rickard, and Nicole (Rick) Desson, brother Philip John, brother-in-law Slim Hasselman and sister-in-law Velma Rickard, his 6 grandchildren Felicia (Zack), Joel (Lisa), Alex, Tieghan and Hunter and 3 great grandchildren, Huxley, Elodie and Emerson as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Pete was predeceased by his parents and siblings Marg (Ron) Keer, Ann Hasselman, Roger Rickard, and sister-in-law Linda Rickard.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Anglican Church, 817 Kettles St, Pincher Creek, on November 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Following the Funeral Service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, at 2:30 PM
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Windy Slope Health Foundation, PO Box 2554, Pincher Creek, AB T0K 1W0
