James "Jim" Snowdon Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James “Jim” Snowdon on July 19, 2026 in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 76 years.

Some people leave behind memories. Others leave behind a way of living that stays with everyone who knew them.

More than anything, Jim loved his best friend and wife, Dianna. Their love was evident in the life they built together and in the simple moments they cherished everyday, such as their daily trips to the river, where they would sit on the same bench each morning, coffee in hand, enjoying each other's company.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren, teaching life lessons, sharing outdoor adventures, fixing what was broken, or simply making people laugh. He never hesitated to say exactly what was on his mind, gave his whole heart to everything he did, and could tell a story like no one else. His wit, humor, and larger-than-life personality filled every room he entered.

His garden was a labour of love, and his shop was more than just a place to work—it was where stories were told, treasures were shared, problems were solved, and countless lifelong memories were made with the people he loved.

He was predeceased by his beloved son, Doug, and by his mother Grace Kennedy (Snowdon) and father Douglas James Snowdon. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianna; his daughter, Tammy, and son-in-law, Rick Hawes; his grandsons, Logan and Griffin as well as [brothers, sisters, extended family], and the many friends whose lives are richer because of having known him.

He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, countless stories that will be told for generations, and a legacy of hard work, generosity, laughter, and unconditional love. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
