Lorne Jackson Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, father, uncle, grandfather, nephew and friend, Lorne Jackson. Lorne passed away suddenly at the Foothills Medical Center at the age of 58 years surrounded by friends and care givers. Lorne was survived by his children: Savannah, Joseph, Emerald, Lorne, and Odin; his siblings: Brian, Raymond, Peter, Larson, Chris, Marlene, Janet, Betty-ann, Destini, Violet, and Ann; his special Aunt Vera; as well as many beloved grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lorne was predeceased by his parents: Margaret and Hector; older brother Joey, and twin sister Lorraine.

Lorne was born and raised on the Piikani First Nation. Along with his siblings he attended Peigan Indian Day School, Canyon Elementary School, and Matthew Halton High School in Pincher Creek.  Lorne was known for his talents in building construction and worked for many years as an Apprentice Journeyman.  Lorne loved the outdoors, was an accomplished hunter/guide, and had an exceptional fondness for horses and animals. Lorne will be remembered fondly for his humor, generosity, and the many great memories so many of us have shared with him throughout the years.
