Marie Florence Butler passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Fort Macleod Health Centre on April 22, 2022, at the age of 74, after a battle with cancer.
Marie was born in Fort Macleod Alberta where she and her husband Jim raised four sons. In 1989 the family moved to an acreage on Willow Creek, and Marie continued to be an active member in the community, serving in the Fort Macleod Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering at the community functions, as well as singing in the United Church choir. Marie loved nature and enjoyed spending time tending to her flower gardens and raising animals on the acreage. She also loved spending time at the family cabin, especially when joined by family and friends. Marie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband Jim of 53 years, sons Mike, Alan (Shelley), Brian (Melinda), and Ted (Angela), as well as 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, brothers; Gary (Myrna) Segboer, Rick (Tracey) Segboer, sisters-in-laws Mary-Anne Segboer and JoAnne Segboer, and Barb (Phil) Roulston, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by her parents Jake and Leah Segboer, and brothers Clarence and Bruce.
