Marilyn Hearn Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Hearn (Janes) on June 4, 2022 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta, at the age of 68 years.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Jerome Hearn of 50 years, and their children: David, Pamela (Chris), Wayne (Vicki), as well as 13 grandchildren: Matthew, David, Devon, Joshua, Tanisha (Rio), Megan, Cole, Shaylynne, Mackenzie, Madison, Kylie, Tyson, and Daxton. Also left with loving memories are her brother Robert (Lydia) Janes, Sisters Darlene (Albert) Poelman, and Tina Janes, as well as many nieces and nephews in Newfoundland, Ontario, and Alberta. She is also survived by her special friend Violet.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Archibald and Phyllis Janes, brothers Gary and William, and sister Sandra Howell, as well as nephews Corey Bishop and James King.

Marilyn was born in St. John’s Newfoundland, and relocated to Southern Alberta in 1997 with her husband Jerome. During her time in Alberta, Marilyn worked for over 20 years in health care. She had a kind heart and gentle spirit who enjoyed helping others. Although she enjoyed her work, her greatest passions were her love of photography and dedication to her family, there was no prouder wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend than her. She will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. In our family this is not “goodbye”, we will “see you later”.

Our family would like to thank all of the doctors and nursing staff in the ICU at the Chinook Regional Hospital for their dedication, compassion, and outstanding care that Marilyn received while in their care. We do not have the words to express our extreme gratitude and appreciation for everything that you did for our family.

As per Marilyn’s request a private Celebration of Life will be held following her cremation.

Donations in Marilyn’s memory can be made at the Children’s Ability Fund of Alberta, a charity that was near and dear to Marilyn’s heart.
