Milton John Capps, better known as "Milt" to most, was born December 29, 1949, in Chatham Ontario and passed away on May 17, 2025, at the Pincher Creek Health Centre after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 75 years.
Milt is survived by his wife of 52 years Gaybe, his daughter Shannon (Lorne) Mitchell, son Steven (Ashley) Capps, 3 grandsons Nathan & Logan Mitchell and Owen Capps, brother Mark Capps & sister Charlene (Mike) Allaire of Ontario.
Milt moved to Drayton Valley, AB when he was 18 to work in the oil & gas industry. In 1973 he married the love of his life, and the following year started trade school at NAIT in Edmonton to become a machinist. In February 1977 Milt and Gaybe welcomed their first child Shannon, later that same year Milt graduated from NAIT.
In 1979 the little family packed up and moved to Pincher Creek where Milt started his career at the Shell Waterton Gas Plant. In August 1980 Milt and Gaybe welcomed their son Steven.
In the late 1990's Milt left Shell and opened his own machine shop at Pincher Station. Capps Machine was a thriving business serving many in his community. In 2013, Milt finally bit the bullet and retired!! Milt and Gaybe packed up the Harley and set off with lifelong friends Joe & Lynn for Alaska. Milt enjoyed woodworking; he built many beautiful projects for people through the years. When he wasn't woodworking, you could find Milt camping or cheering on the Oilers.
At this time our family would like to thank all the medical professionals at the Pincher Creek Health Centre, Jack Ady Cancer Centre and the Foothills Medical Centre for all the wonderful care they provided.
As per Milt's wishes there will be no funeral.
