Muriel Irene Love

Muriel Irene Love passed away on April 23, 2023, just 9 days after her 78th birthday, at her home in Good Samaritans Vista Village, Pincher Creek, AB.  The hearts of her children and grandchildren are truly shattered at her sudden passing.

She was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 14, 1945, to parents Tom and Berta Taylor.  She spent her childhood years growing up on the farm around Castor/Stettler, before moving to Edmonton for further education as a Lab Technician.

She met Arleigh in 1966 and they got married on May 6, 1967.  They lived in Pincher Creek for many years. Before their kids Donnelle and Shane came along, she was a secretary for Ranchers Supply.  Then became a stay at home mom and babysat many kids through the years.  Arleigh and Irene moved to Grande Cache for a few years before moving to Valleyview for a few more years, then to Lethbridge for a few more years before returning back to Pincher Creek where she resided until the time of her passing.

Irene enjoyed getting together with family and friends, cooking, baking wonderful meals …. spoiling grandchildren with their favorite cheesecake and taking care of the beautiful house plants she had.

In more recently years she loved going to the restaurant with family/friends for Chinese food, going to McDonald’s to visit family and enjoy ice cream! 

As Irene went through life, she had a wide circle of friends through her church and the different jobs she had.  An extra special thanks must go to Ken & Dorothy Lewis who took her under their wings once Arleigh passed.

Irene will be forever loved and cherished by her children, Donnelle (Mart) Teneycke, and Shane Love; grandchildren, Donnelle’s kids, Colten (Miranda), Tysen (Emily), Tegen (Alex) and Shaylee; Shane’s kids, Jaden Norris, Frankie Love, Blaze Love; siblings, Barbara (Don) Lee, Terry (Gayle) Taylor, Donna (Pat) Doyle, sister-in-law, Joan Taylor, sister-in-law Joyce Antypowich; and their families, as well as numerous relatives and special friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Arleigh 1997; Mother Berta in August 1994; Father Thomas in May 2005; eldest Brother Bruce in in December 2007; Sister Noreen in March 2020; and infant Sister Shirley Mae in March 1947; and in-laws Sim Love  1994; Helen Love 2001 and brother-in-law Clifford Antypowich 2017.

A Funeral Service was held at Creekside Community Church of Pincher Creek, 637 Charlotte Street, Pincher Creek, Alberta, at 2:30 PM.

A Graveside Service followed the Funeral Service at Fairview Cemetery, Pincher Creek, AB.
