Patricia A. Petrone

Patricia A. Petrone, beloved wife of predeceased Archie Petrone of Pincher Creek, AB passed away on August 23, 2021, at the age of 90 years.

Patricia is survived by her children K.C. Pappas of Calgary, AB, Robert (Donna) Petrone of Grande Prairie, AB, Kelly Lovato of Maui, HI, Joe (Patti) Petrone of Calgary, AB, Michelle Petrone of Edmonton, AB, Michael (Sheila) Petrone of Cochrane, AB, fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren  She was predeceased by parents Cecile and Arthur Kelly, brothers William and Eugene Kelly and daughter Patty Petrone.

Patricia was born in Blairmore, AB and grew up in Pincher Creek.  She attended St. Michael’s School for her elementary and junior high years and transferred to the Convent in Calgary for her high school years.  She went on to graduate as a registered nurse and worked in the town of Michelle, BC where she met her husband of 58 years.  They moved to Pincher Creek where Patricia worked for Dr. Hal Medlicott until opening the Bunny Bar drive-in  as a joint venture with the Flegal family.  Patricia and Archie would eventually expand the Bunny Bar and open a Yamaha motorcycle shop, running both as a family business in which their daughters worked the restaurant and their sons the shop.

Many residents of Pincher Creek have received tokens of Patricia’s exceptional creative skills, which included quilting, sewing, and knitting.  All her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren proudly display her handiwork in appreciation of her enormous generosity and dedication.

Patricia and Archie “wintered” for 30 years in their beloved Arizona.  There, they became great friends with Sparky and Marie Bouwtknigk, Ontario, whose friendship endured beyond Archie’s death and led to many visits in Alberta, which Patricia treasured.

Patricia’s last years were happily spent in her condo at Cornerstone Place, where she and neighbor Jo-Ann Evans became best friends and supported each other through the COVID pandemic.

In Patricia’s later years, a great source of enjoyment for her was the videos of her great grandchildren, all of whom she was so proud.

There will be a Prayer Service held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9:00 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 958 Christie Ave, Pincher Creek, AB T0K 1W0. There will be a Memorial Mass held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. also at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
