Peggy (DeGinnus) Clarke of Fort Macleod passed away on October 8, 2024.
Peggy was born January 2, 1952, in Lethbridge, the middle daughter of Michael and Vada DeGinnus. The family moved to Pincher Creek before moving to Fort Macleod in 1957.
Although Peggy had a lifetime dream to become a nurse, life led her in a different direction. She worked for a time as a waitress, an egg-grader, at Extendicare, and then as a clerk in a few stores. The last 30+ years of her working life were spent as a dept manager at Walmart.
Peggy absolutely loved to cook and bake. She was excellent at both. She had a love for all animals, but especially dogs and horses.
Her son Todd was born in 1971, daughter Terri was born in 1973. In 2016 her son passed away and it absolutely shattered her heart and shook her faith.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Terri (Stephen) Hill, and their three children, and Todd’s four children, and one great grandchild. Peggy is also survived by her sister Gail Loof, and children Lee and Nigel; and younger sister, Susan (Doug) Simpson.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Michael (2019) and Vada (2012), her son Todd (2016), and brother-in-law Willi (2014).
Gail, Peggy, and Susan had a very close bond, and will miss her immensely until they meet again.
Peggy will be laid to rest with her beloved son, Todd, at a later date in Magrath Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 710-10123 99 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and emergency staff of Fort Macleod Health Centre, and the LDS Ward for their thoughts, prayers, and support.
