August 7, 1945 ~ September 25, 2023 (age 78) 78 Years Old
Peter Krahn of Picture Butte was born on August 7, 1946, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 25, 2023, in his 78th year. He is survived by his children: Sarah Walker (Doug), Peter Krahn, John Krahn (Tammy), Annie Vair (Matt), Mary Olsen (Rhett) and Adriana Hiebert. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Brother of Maria, Anita, Johan, Jacob, Gertruda, Isaac, Heinrich, Helena and Frank. Predeceased by his wife Maria and his brothers: Bernhard, Abraham, David, and Gerhard.
Peter's daughter Mary had this to say: Peter moved his family to Morden, Manitoba, where he worked at a chicken farm, and from there they moved to Alberta where he would spend the rest of his life. He worked for Haney ranching out of Iron Springs for a very long time, and the kids all went to school in Picture Butte. He spent his days feeding the cows and packing the silage pits, seeding fields and harvesting them. He also worked at various other farms in Southern Alberta. He enjoyed visiting family and having barbecues and spent time fishing when he could. I'm thankful for being able to grow up on a farm around all the animals we had over the years.
You will be missed Uncle Peter.
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life —
of whom shall I be afraid? One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
