Evangeline Provost who adopted Robert & Betty, and their children as her own. He had an adopted sister Lorraine Blackwater who he grew up with. He also grew close and had a special relationship with Irvin and Ramona First Rider.

Robert was known as Papa to his grandchildren, he loved and adored all his grandchildren, and he gave all his grandchildren special nicknames that he kept between himself and his wife. Robert, raised all three of his children with the help of his dad Lawrence, and sister's guidance. He then started his life with Betty Morning Bird in 2004, and in 2010 they began raising two of Betty's Grandchildren, whom they continued to live with. Robert enjoyed raising and having children in his home. He always encouraged and believed in his family at whatever they were doing. He was a very proud and private man, he never let people or his family know if he was sick or if his illness was affecting him.

Robert loved all his nieces and nephews and encouraged all the young people in their endeavors.  In his early years Robert was taught to do mechanical repairs which was taught to him by his dad Lawrence.  Our father Lawrence had a strong work ethic therefore we all had to have careers, Robert was a good provider and his wife never had to go to work.  Robert and Betty, Betty and Robert.  Now it will be Betty and memories of Robert.  They were always together living their best life with their children, grandchildren and family.

His sisters Sandra and Shirley looked up to Robert even though he was younger.

He had many friends and cousins he grew up with, whom he called brothers, and many people who passed on before him. Too many to name, we are sorry for not including names.
