Tim Armstrong Obituary

It is with the deepest sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected loss of our beloved husband, father, brother, and son, Tim Armstrong.

Tim Ken Armstrong passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 48 years, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 29, 1976, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Tim was the son of Ken (deceased) and Carrol Armstrong. He grew up with his brother Andy (Judy) and later built a life surrounded by family, friends and the great outdoors he so deeply loved.

Tim was married to the love of his life Michelle Armstrong and was the proud father of two sons, Jorel (Colby) and Kent. He was much loved and will be deeply missed by his mother-in-law Gerrie and his brother-in-law Trevor. His passion for nature defined much of his life – he so enjoyed camping, was an avid fly fisherman, a devoted bird dog hunter with his best buddy Wren, and found joy exploring remote areas as a backcountry snowmobiler. These pursuits reflected his adventurous spirit.

His dedication and passion for work with the Government of Alberta for over 20 years in both Wildfire and Water Monitoring, allowing him to travel the province extensively from north to south. As a Wildfire Communications Technician in Northern Alberta, he kept people connected and safe during the wildfire season. He transferred from fire to water once relocating to Southern Alberta, where he worked as a Water Monitoring Technologist conducting water and snow surveys via backcountry touring, snowmobiling and flying to numerous mountain peaks of the Southern Rockies.

Those who knew Tim well will remember him for his sense of humour, enduring love of the outdoors, the quiet strength he brought to every endeavour, and most of all his dedication to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by his loved ones and in the landscape he cherished.
