Pincher Creek ~ Dee Margaret Smith, lovingly known as "Tea Granny" by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great-grandchildren, steeped peacefully into the afterlife on November 7, 2023, in Pincher Creek, Alberta. She was born on May 17, 1922, in Pincher Creek, where her story began.
Dee, a true connoisseur of life, now joins her late husband George, daughter Diane, and son David, along with her parents David and Aley, four brothers, one sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and one granddaughter, in a celestial tea party.
Survived by her daughter Patricia, brother Charlie, and sisters-in-law Grace and Betty, Dee leaves behind a legacy that is as comforting as a warm cup of tea. Her memory will forever steep in the hearts of her son-in-law Johnny, daughter-in-law Karen, and a whole pot of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Known for her nurturing spirit and a tea-making prowess that could rival any master blender, Dee's presence brought joy to every sip of life. Her love and care were the secret ingredients that made her family's lives so rich and flavorful.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Dee's extraordinary life.
