She was predeceased by her sister Rita. Margaret was born in Craigmyle, Alberta in 1931 to Tom and Maggie Harris. They lived as family on the McIntyre Ranch where Margaret was raised. In early adulthood she moved to Lethbridge to work at Eaton's. Following her time in Lethbridge, she joined the Canadian Airforce for a few years.  After her time in the Air Force, she moved to Pincher Creek where she became the owner of the Pincher Creek ESSO restaurant.  On May 28, 1974, she married Charlie and moved to the farm where she spent the remainder of her life.
