It is with deep sorrow that we announce that the Lord has taken out of this life our beloved husband, father and Opa, Peter Herweyer on August 12, 2026, at the age of 73.
Peter is survived by his wife Ria, their children John (Melissa) Herweyer and their children Tyler, Kiera(Jordan), Logan, and Ava; and Sandra (Tim) Van Sluys and their children Kaitlin, Chelsey, and Jordan; and Lyanne (Kirk) Riha and her children Cody and Austin; and Mike (Darcie) Herweyer and their children Kinsley and McKenna; and great grandchildren Beau, Crew, and Thatcher. Peter is also survived by his siblings Ad (Nel) Herweyer and Jilles (Letty) Herweyer and Ineke (Aart) Aarnoutse.
He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Neeltje Herweyer and his sister and brother-in-law Annie and Bas van de Linden
Condolences will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 7-8pm at Eden's Funeral Home in Fort Macleod.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10am at the Fort Macleod Netherlands Reformed Congregation Church, with Rev Adams officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Union Cemetery in Fort Macleod.
