Wayne Young
May 17, 1948 – May 13, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Wayne Young on May 13, 2024, in Fort MacLeod, Alberta, at the age of 75.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carroll Young; children, Rachelle (Michael) Sanderson, Wayne (Annemarie) Young, Beau (Lindsey) Young, and Meaghan (Jeff) Dick; grandchildren Joshua and Taylor Sanderson, Tiana and Micah Young, and Ali and Haddon Young.
He was predeceased by his son, John Treven Young; sisters, Julia Faubert, Beatrice Flanagan, Agnes Bourner, and Lorraine Joynt; parents, Wendlen and Eva Young.
Wayne grew up and attended school in Unity, Saskatchewan. He worked several years as a boilermaker. In 1969, he joined the RCMP where he served at postings throughout B.C. and Saskatchewan. While posted in Biggar, Saskatchewan he met the love of his life, Carroll, whom he married in 1979. He later spent several years grain and hog farming near Carroll’s parents’ farm in Kelfield, Saskatchewan. In 1991 he rejoined the RCMP and retired from the force in 2003. Wayne will be remembered for his dedicated faith in the Lord and devotion to his wife and family, and his passion for fishing and waterfowl hunting.
A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 5 Ave, Fort Macleod, on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
