It is with deep sorrow that the family of Janet Joyce (Fehr) Volb announces her passing on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the age of 68 in Lethbridge.
Jan was born on Friday, May 9, 1958, in Brandon, Manitoba. She was the second daughter of John and Eva Fehr. As a young girl, Jan loved to design and sew clothes for her and her two sisters Barbies and spending as much time with her family as possible was always at the top of her priority list.
At the age of seven, Jan, along with her parents, sisters, and little brother, made the move to Penticton. It was here that she really honed in on her love of the outdoors, taking full advantage of the beautiful B.C weather! Seven years went by, and when Jan’s parents made the move back to Manitoba, she was having none of that! She chose to move to Drumheller to live with her sister. This decision would seal her fate for the rest of her life.
The Badlands is where she met her great love, Rob. The lovebirds dated for four years before tying the knot on July 14, 1979. Together they headed south to Lethbridge to start their new life. A very short time later, Jan and Rob found the place they would call home forever in Coaldale and set down roots there for good.
Jan was destined to be a Mom and was overjoyed when they welcomed their two Daughters: April in April of 1980, and Meghan in April of 1983. She always went above and beyond to make sure her girls knew how loved and special they truly were with her kind words and beautiful gestures. This love extended even wider when their cherished granddaughters, Alice and Abby, joined the family. Nana always knew how to turn those frowns upside down!
Jan’s favourite ways to spend her downtime were camping, travelling, beautifying their immaculate yard, and renovating their house many times over! She was so happy having her space just the way she wanted!
Remembering her comforting ways, contagious laugh, and her warmth will be something we hold tight within us always.
Jan is survived by her daughters, April (Brock) and Meghan, her granddaughters Alice and Abby, sisters Doris Wilde and Colleen (Jim) Guskjolen, brother Rod Fehr, in-laws: Marlene Bixby, Florence (Alan) Hodgson, Shirley Morrow, Andrew (Trish) Volb, and Linda Volb, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, John and Eva Fehr, father and mother-in-law Ernest and Annie Volb, special Auntie-in-law Elsie Shandera, and sister-in-law Mary Anne Hill.
As in life, and in Heaven, Jan and Rob are together once more, as Rob passed away just 30 days before her, on July 28th. It is a great comfort to know that they are reunited and no longer in pain. We have two special angels watching over us from above.
