The official obituary of

Sterling Alward

June 30, 1947 — October 7, 2026

Sterling was a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a true friend. He was a man with a big heart, a wonderful sense of humour, and a gift for bringing laughter and joy to the people around him.

He loved his family deeply and treasured the time spent with those closest to him. He also had a special place in his heart for all pets. Whether watching his favourite sports games, listening to country western music, or singing karaoke, Sterling knew how to enjoy life and make the most of the moments that mattered.

His playful nature and quick wit were a big part of who he was. Sterling loved to joke around, share a laugh, and keep those around him smiling. He also knew that no occasion was complete without a funny hat! Whether it was a celebration or just an opportunity to get a laugh, he was always ready to add a little extra fun and make sure people had something to smile about.

His special jokes with his grandson about Dilly Bars will remain a cherished memory, a reminder that sometimes the smallest moments leave the biggest impressions. As was his willingness to search out the perfect tie for a special graduation.

Sterling will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, his love of family and animals, and the laughter he brought into the lives of so many. He had a way of making memories out of everyday moments, and his presence brought something special to every gathering.

Though he will be deeply missed, the laughter he shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit will remain with us in our favourite memories, in a good-natured joke, in the familiar sound of a George Jones song, under the brim of a funny hat, and perhaps in a Dilly Bar or a shot of Baja Rosa shared in his honour.

Sterling was loved beyond measure, and his memory will be treasured always. May he now be reunited with his beloved wife, Grace, together again forever, their love enduring beyond this life.
