Donna Mae Elliott was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta, and spent nearly her entire life in the Pincher Creek area. She grew up in the Gladstone Valley, where she attended school through Grade 9 while living without modern amenities.
After moving into the town of Pincher Creek, Donna began working at Colpman’s Drug Store, where she made ice cream and served cones, sundaes, and banana splits.
On September 10, 1960, Donna married Bill Elliott, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love.
From 1973 to 1990, Donna drove the town school bus, a job she took great pride in.
Donna had many passions, including cooking, baking, and playing cards. She was known for her generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others — always sharing her baking and hand-crafted quilts with family and friends.
In 1991, Donna was honoured as Pincher Creek’s Citizen of the Year for her community spirit and dedication.
She was an active member of Royal Purple, the Fish and Game Association, and an enthusiastic supporter of minor hockey, minor baseball, and the United Church, where she volunteered countless hours.
Above all, family and friends were at the heart of Donna’s life.
Donna is lovingly remembered by her sons James (Michelle) and Bryan (Kim); grandchildren Alex (Kayla), Megan (Danton), Tucker, and Tesla; great-granddaughter Attie; great-nephew Dane Barclay (Brianne); and great-niece and nephew Emily and Owen. She is also survived by her older brother David Barclay.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, daughter Barbra Ann, and grandson Taylor.
Donna’s warmth, generosity, and community spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank Home Care and Vista Village for the compassionate care provided over the past few years.
Funeral service to be held at Pincher Creek United Church on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
