George was born July 16, 1933 in Blairmore, Alberta and grew up on the ranch in Porcupine Hills, Alberta. He married Yvonne on May 6, 1955 in Pincher Creek, Alberta. After they married George worked at the Burmis Sawmills. They moved to the Crowsnest Pass where he owned coal trucks and hauled coal in the area.
