Glenn Clarence Chute
Born June 11, 1937 in Little River, Nova Scotia,
Died April 14, 2025 in Fort Macleod, Alberta
A dear soul left the world this week but not without leaving his mark.
He was far from perfect but he was perfectly ours.
He was a kind, caring, compassionate , honest, hardworking, loyal & sensitive man. Never ashamed to shed a tear if something touched his heart.
Adventures were part of his makeup & he was excited & positive when deciding in 1968 to join friends & move his family across Canada from Nova Scotia to Calgary.
He felt a part of the very fabric of Alberta & while forever remaining Nova Scotian he was a dyed in the wool Albertan.
When Dad turned 80, he got a “smart phone” & learned to text. Best day ever & although he cursed it regularly it allowed him to send each of his beloved daughters a daily “letter”. We have years worth of heartfelt, hilarious sometimes ranting missives from our own personal storyteller. We’ll forever treasure them.
Glenn was predeceased by his second wife Laureen Chute (nee Viens) , as well as his parents Rev. Clarence Linam Chute & Jean Elizabeth Chute (nee Richardson), brothers Royce Chute (Bonnie) & Earl Chute (Edith) & sister Jean Byers (Neil).
He is survived by his first wife Sheila Isaacson (nee Pinkney) with whom he remained a respected friend, his sister Joyce Graham (Bill), his daughters April Krupek (Horst), Charlotte Oscarson (Marco), Penny Thompson (Scott) & stepchildren Gregg Simpson (Natasha), Kaci ( Andrew), Stewart (Tina) & Nadine (Tom), 13 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. Too many nieces & nephews to count.
Our hearts are heavy today but we’re so grateful for the time we had & the memories we’ll cherish forever.
Our deepest thanks for all those who cared for him.
We love you to pieces our dear old Dad ❤️
Rest now in your “easy-boy” chair until we meet again.
