Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

“Oki, Nistooakook Matsi’namahka. Niisto nohto’to Kainai, Siksikatsitapii.”

My name is Pretty Weapon/ Goodstriker, and I am from Kainai Nation, one of four nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy.” I am the great-grandson of Rufus Goodstriker, and was raised by my mom, Chrissy Goodstriker, and my late grandma, Joyce Goodstriker – partly making me a kipitaipokaa. Growing up with my traditions, it had taught me my strongest values, Kimmapiiyipitssini ki Inakootsiiyssini (compassion and respect), which has helped with my desire to always care for those in need.

Growing up, I primarily attended school in Kainai, graduating in 2014. From there I attended Lethbridge College for my Business Management Diploma and continued my athletics with the Lethbridge College Kodiaks. While going through my Lethbridge College graduating year of 2018-2019, I also began my studies with Mount Royal University for my Funeral Services Diploma.

I entered the funeral profession in late 2018, and have since become a licensed Funeral Director, graduating from Mount Royal University in 2022. I started working with Eden’s Funeral Home in late 2021, and this transition gave me the opportunity to serve the communities I grew up in and around, such as Kainai, Piikani, Fort Macleod, and Pincher Creek.

I have since been honored to serve every family that comes into our care, and I will continue to do so throughout the years.

About Us

Funeral care built around clarity and trust

From our home in Fort Macleod, Edens looks after families across southern Alberta — in Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek and Coaldale — as a division of The Caring Group. Our roots here run deep: Frank Eden was running the firm in 1973 when he hired a young funeral director named Dennis Novak, who is still with us more than fifty years on. The people who answer the phone grew up in these communities — Kainai, Piikani, the Crowsnest Pass, Coaldale — and many of the families we serve, we have served before.
